2019 Race Results

On the banks of the Androscoggin River, and under a brilliant blue sky, a record-setting crowd of more than 300 runners and walkers gathered Saturday to participate in the 7th Annual RiverFire 5K race.  The race covers 3.1 mile course that begins and ends at the Service Credit Union Heritage Park.

 The event raises funds to support the Response Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence Support Center – a program sponsored by Coos County Family Health that provides services without charge to people whose lives have been touched by domestic or sexual violence.

Participants in the event ranged from toddlers to octogenarians (and several well-behaved canines, too).  Top female overall finishers were a tightly clustered group and included: 1st – Kelly Kernan, 23:11; 2nd – Darcie Call, 23:28; and 3rd – Kathryn Bedard, 23:37.  Top male overall racers were also tightly bunched and included: 1st – Kolbe Delafontaine, 17:57; 2nd – Brayden Landry, 17:58; and 3rd – Kemp Schanlaber  18:31.

 The top three teams finishers were: 1st – BHS Cross Country (59:00:00) lead by Brayden Landry, Jace Arsenault and Matthey Landry; 2nd – Team Landry (1:02:58) lead by Rich Landry, Neil Gagne and Michael Novak; and 3rd – 2 Fast 1 Furious (1:04:49) lead by Kolbe Delafontaine, Sam Stiles and Alyssa Delafontaine.

              Hand crafted awards were given to the top male and female overall finishers. as well as to the top three male and female age division finishers. 

              More than two dozen generous local groups and business supported the event through cash and in-kind donations.  Proceeds from the event are expected to exceed $15,000, and will be used to further the work of the Response program to eradicate domestic violence and sexual violence in our community, and to support the survivors of these crimes.
